English Open Champion: Victory at Kings Norton

On 28 June 2023, I won the English Open for Golfers with a Disability at Kings Norton Golf Club a major milestone in my golfing journey.

The championship took place over 27–28 June, with two rounds to decide the title. I opened with a 77 before producing a final-round 72, finishing on 149, three over par, to win by two shots.

It was my second appearance in the championship, having finished fifth at Carden Park in 2022. Returning a year later and lifting the trophy marked a significant step forward.

My first EDGA Tour win had come at Stratford-on-Avon in September 2022. Earlier in 2023, I had also made my G4D Tour debut in Singapore. Adding the English Open title made Kings Norton another important chapter in those early seasons of disability golf.

Living with congenital hip dysplasia has meant finding ways to manage the physical demands of golf while continuing to compete. Discovering disability golf opened up a competitive pathway that took me from entering my first EDGA event to becoming a national Open champion.

England Golf captured the occasion in a video interview after the win. It provides a chance to look back at the tournament and a moment that deserves its place in my golfing story.
